Facundo Quiroga

I'm a researcher in Computer Science at Universidad Nacional de La Plata working on Sign Language Recognition and Machine Learning. My research focuses on developing more effective and efficient ways to recognize and translate sign language using computer vision and deep learning techniques.

I've developed several key contributions to the field, including LSA64, one of the first Argentinian Sign Language datasets, and novel methods for measuring invariance and equivariance in neural networks. My recent work has focused on transformer-based architectures for sign language translation and interpretation, especially investigating how these models process and align visual inputs with sequential glosses.

Beyond sign language, I'm also interested in the theoretical aspects of deep learning, particularly in understanding how neural networks learn and encode invariances to transformations. I collaborate extensively with researchers across different institutions on projects ranging from financial analysis to medical imaging, bringing machine learning expertise to solve real-world problems in these domains.
